Storyline-Olympus Has Fallen

When well-equipped and well-trained terrorists conduct a daring daytime assault on the White House, the unthinkable occurs. President Benjamin Asher (Aaron Eckhart) and his staff are held hostage after the building is seized. Fortunately for Asher, Mike Banning (Gerard Butler), a former member of the presidential security team, has arrived. As the clock ticks down, Banning must find Asher’s son before the radicals do and save the president before his captors execute their final strategy.

Mike Banning in Olympus has Fallen

Mike Banning, a U.S. Army Ranger, is the principal Secret Service agent in charge of the Presidential Detail. He keeps in touch personally and amicably with First Lady Margaret, President Benjamin Asher of the United States, and their son Connor in particular. On December 25, 2011, as the president was travelling from Camp David to a campaign fundraiser, a tree limb fell and hit the front of the convoy, causing it to skid uncontrollably on a bridge’s black ice. The presidential limousine is left perched precariously on the brink of the bridge as the leading vehicle smashes through the guard rail and plunges into the cold river below. President Asher is saved by Mike, but Margaret and two other agents perish when their car crashes.

Movie Continues

On July 5, 2013, which was 18 months after Asher’s recollection of Margaret’s death that night reactivated. Mike no longer serves on the Presidential Detail and is instead employ by the Treasury Department, which is located near the White House. North Korean-led guerrilla troops launch an aerial and ground assault while Asher and South Korean Prime Minister Lee Tae-Woo are having a political meeting. They pose as local garbage collection services and a large group of tourists. The raid leads to the final seizure of the White House with help from inside the White House from traitorous members of Prime Minister Lee’s detail and Dave Forbes, an ex-U.S. Secret Service agent turned private contractor, as well as aerial cover fire from a US military aircraft.
